TWO OF the UK’s best-loved stars of the stage and screen who have never performed together until now will soon be appearing at Malvern Theatres,

For the first time in their celebrated careers, Tom Conti and Gwen Taylor are set to take to the stage in the wickedly satirical comedy Before The Party.

The play, which was originally written by Rodney Ackland, tells the tale of when the war was over and the Skinner family trying to return to normal before their latest social gathering.

Tom Conti, who will also be directing the brand new production, is one of the most respected and celebrated actors of his generation. He was the leading man in Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence and Shirley Valentine, and also appeared as myriad characters on screen and stage.

Gwen Taylor is best known in recent years for her role as Anne Foster, mother of the villainous Frank Foster in Coronation Street, but she is also much loved for starring in the ITV sitcoms Duty Free, A Bit of A Do with David Jason.

Before The Party will be appearing on the stage from Monday (September 28) until next Saturday (October 3)

The evening shows will start at 7.30pm while the Wednesday and Saturday matinée will be at 2.30pm.

Tickets are between £15.12 and £31.92 and can be purchased by calling the box office on 01684 892277 or visit www.malvern-theatres.co.uk for more.
