Wonderful show on its way

Malvern Editorial 3rd Jun, 2015 Updated: 20th Oct, 2016   0

A SPECIAL production of It’s a Wonderful Life is coming to Malvern Theatres.

The play, which has been adapted from the Frank Capra film by Tony Palermo, tells the iconic story of idealist George Bailey, whose dreams look set to be dashed by a small-town scandal and a big business.

Alone on a bridge, contemplating life, he decides everyone would be better off without him. It then falls to hapless guardian angel, Clarence, to try and save him.

The sparkling new British production, which was premiered and received rave reviews in London last year, retells the tale as a radio play, complete with sound effects created live on stage. This loving tribute to the golden era of the wireless is a fresh take on a heart-warming and timely movie classic.

Multi award-winning David Benson, one of the UK’s most acclaimed actors, will be playing the role of four characters – Pa Bailey, Mr Gower, Mr Potter and Officer Bert. The rest of the cast will include Oliver Stoney , Richard Albrecht, Lynsey Beauchamp, Benjamin Chamberlain and Augustina Seymour.

It’s a Wonderful Life will be appearing on June 9 and June 10. Tickets will be between £18.48 and £25.20.

The evening shows will start at 7.30pm and the Wednesday Matinee will be at 2.30pm.
