Anger after Ashleigh and Pudsey's Saturday shows in Malvern are cancelled

Malvern Editorial 23rd May, 2016 Updated: 20th Oct, 2016   0

ANGER has been expressed after it was announced superstar duo Ashleigh and Pudsey will not perform at Malvern Theatres this Saturday because they have decided to appear on the Britain’s Got Talent Live final instead.

The former winners of the ITV show will still perform their show ‘Mission Impudseyble’ on Friday night at the Grange Road venue as planned but their absence on Saturday has angered those who had booked tickets for the two shows which were due to take place at 1.30pm and 4.30pm.

It has been announced those who had tickets can transfer them for the Friday show – where seats are still available – or they can claim a full refund.

The show was also to feature former X Factor contestant Stevi Ritchie.

James Marco, who had purchased front row tickets for the 4.30pm show, said it was a ‘disgrace’ how he and other customers had been treated.

He said: “The Malvern Theatres box office called me on Monday morning and left a message informing me that both Saturday performances were cancelled.

“I rang them and asked why, I was told that ‘Ashleigh and Pudsey had decided to go to London and do the BGT final instead of performing that day’.

“The theatre box office sounded embarrassed and very let down to be honest.

“Ashleigh and Pudsey are represented by a management group called Roar Global, I would ask them how they can justify upsetting all the families and children and hundreds of others who had booked to see the Saturday performances.

“To cancel these local commitments in favour of a payday is disgraceful.”

Ashleigh and Pudsey, a dog trick act, rose to fame when they won Britain’s Got Talent in 2012.

Winning the show changed their lives with a blockbuster film dedicated to the amazing skills of Pudsey being released in January 2013.

Ashleigh and Pudsey’s agents Roar Global said in a statement it was with regret the shows had to be cancelled.

It read: “Ashleigh & Pudsey have been invited to perform on the final of Britain’s Got Talent on Saturday, May 28, and we are grateful to the theatre and the producers of Mission Impudseyble for agreeing to cancel the performances on this date.

“While we regret the need for cancellation, ticket transfers are being offer to all ticket holders for the cancelled shows to the performance on Friday, May 27 at the same venue, or they are entitled to a full refund.

“We hope that those that are disappointed will be able to catch this fantastic production at any of its venues throughout the year.”
