Chance to keep fit and keep safe

THE ART of self-defence and awareness will be available at a popular Malvern venue as a new class kicks off in the town.

Amanda Wright will launch ‘Mojo’ on Monday (July 6) for residents to get to grips with self-protection techniques, reflex building, confidence and self-esteem boosting and awareness raising.

The class, specifically for women, will run every Monday at Malvern Cube, on Albert Road North, from midday to 1pm and the first session is free.

Amanda, who also teaches jiu-jitsu and is a health and wellbeing advisor, said: “While I will teach people breakaway techniques, I will also give advice on how to stay safe and not to get in situations were those techniques will need to be used.

“In my experience I have never had to use defence techniques and I firmly believe that is because I have the awareness, it is about prevention.

“You don’t want these things to happen in the first place so you need to give people the skills to avoid any such situations.”
