ONE OF Malvern’s biggest schools is celebrating its Ofsted report after inspectors described it as being at the ‘very top end’ of the good category.
The Chase High School, on Geraldine Road, was recently judged by Ofsted as having a ‘good’ school, with an ‘outstanding’ Sixth Form.
The report praised the leadership and management of the school for making sustained improvements in leadership, teaching and outcomes since the previous inspection in 2014, where it was judged to be ‘requiring improvement’ following three years of lower than expected exam results.
They praised leaders and governors for the ‘clear vision’ they have for the school and for the ‘very strong’ commitment to equality of opportunity for all pupils, as well as for the ‘rich experiences’ they provide for students.
Inspectors also noted the positive climate for learning within classrooms and praised teachers for the ‘excellent relationship’ they forge with students.
Pupils were praised by inspectors as being hard working and keen to succeed and the report concluded they were ‘exceptionally well prepared’ for the next stage of their learning.
Special praise was also reserved for the school’s Sixth Form, which was judged to be providing ‘outstanding education’ for its students.
