WORCESTERSHIRE cricket legend Sir Ian Botham, known to millions of fans worldwide, has expressed his support to Cyril Dean’s fund-raising efforts by retweeting his JustGiving page on Twitter.

Botham, who played at New Road in the late 1980s and early 1990s, is a keen walker and is known for doing many charity walks away from his cricket punditry and raising thousands of pounds.

Mr Dean is to walk 140 miles from Malvern to Upminster in early June as a thank you gesture to those who helped save his daughter Olivia’s life when she suffered a fall while horse-riding a year ago.

A huge cricket fan, Mr Dean said he was delighted to have received Botham’s support.
