AN ELDERLY cyclist was taken to a major trauma centre after he collided with a car in Malvern.
Paramedics and a West Midlands Ambulance were called to the junction of Sherrards Green Road and Pickersleigh Road just before 5.30pm yesterday (Thursday).
The man suffered a chest injury which required roadside treatment by a doctor and ambulance staff.
He was then given oxygen and once stabilised the man was airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, a major trauma centre, for further treatment.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “The elderly man had been riding his push bike when he was in collision with a car. When ambulance staff arrived they were told by passers-by he had suffered no loss of consciousness.”
