A FORMER celebrity TV star has launched a new career as a garden designer after winning two big awards at the Malvern Spring Festival.

Kate Durr, who last appeared on TV screens hosting ITV’s Guinness World Records, won Gold and the Best Garden award at the festival last week.

The mum-of-three has recently relocated back to the Cotswolds from Los Angeles with her family and retrained as a professional garden designer at the renowned Cotswold Gardening School.

Kate has been making a name for herself in the horticulture world by designing and building her first RHS show garden ‘constraining nature’ at the Malvern Spring Festival, after winning a national RHS competition.

Kate, who was born in Wiltshire and grew-up gardening on her mum’s knee, initially began a career as a model which continued for nearly twenty years.

Over the years Kate’s love of gardening has led to her creating gardens in all her homes, in London, LA and now Wiltshire and for friends and family.

She now runs her own garden design practice, called Kate Durr Garden Design from her Wiltshire farmhouse.
