A YOUNG girl has been airlifted from Malvern after being kicked in the head by a horse.
The eight-year-old was treated by the ambulance service in Blackmore Park Road, Malvern Wells, shortly before 7.50am on Sunday (October 19).
She was then taken to a specialist children’s hospital by the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham which attended alongside an ambulance and a responder paramedic.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “The eight-year-old girl had reportedly been kicked in the head by a horse.
“Upon assessment, ambulance staff found she had sustained a nasty head wound and suspected she had been knocked unconscious for a short time.
“Ambulance staff gave the girl pain relief and anti-sickness drugs to help manage her condition before she was airlifted to Birmingham Children’s Hospital for further assessment and treatment.”
