Great Malvern Primary School set to open new block

Malvern Editorial 23rd Oct, 2014 Updated: 20th Oct, 2016   0

A PRIMARY school has launched an appeal for its oldest pupil to return and officially open a new block.

Great Malvern Primary School will hold a celebration in November that will mark an end to the £1million project which featured on the front page of the first ever edition of the Observer.

The new block boasts six classrooms and has replaced old run-down mobile buildings which had been hoisted on to the playground at the Lydes Road based school.

The unveiling will mark the end to a long journey for staff who have tried to finance the development for years, and even went to the length of converting to an academy in 2011 to secure the necessary investment.

To make the occasion special the school wants one of its oldest pupils, ideally someone who attended in 1916 – its first year – to formally cut the ribbon alongside the current youngest student.

Anyone who thinks they are one of the first people to go to Great Malvern Primary School or perhaps know someone who is, should contact the school on 01684 574219.
