LEDBURY is set for a tasty weekend ahead as the community cooks up another big breakfast.
The Big Breakfast, organised by Ledbury Food Group and now in its fourth year, will take place at 8.30am on Ledbury High Street this Friday and Saturday (January 29 and 30).
As part of the nationally themed ‘Breakfast Week’, 19 Ledbury based food outlets will be attending the event to provide residents and visitors the best produce from the area.
New dishes this year include breakfast ciabattas, potato rosti with eggs and salmon, apple and cinnamon porridge, apple cured salmon or smoked trout and scrambled eggs, local cheese and ale rarebit and a brand new ‘black pudding bonanza’ to take home.
And to celebrate breakfast week, there will be a special Rock and Roll Bingo Brunch held on Saturday.
Ledbury butchers will once again be opening their doors to offer a wide range of local breakfast produce for attendees to take home and cook.
Country Market, at St Katherine’s Hall is the place to be on Friday as they will be serving up a continental breakfast featuring locally cured meats.
In another first for the event, Handley Organics will be hosting a Syrian-style breakfast with all proceeds going to the Ledbury Refugee Support campaign.
Spokesperson Griff Holliday said: “We are pleased to have such a range of local food on offer again, and to join in Breakfast Week 2016 with its key message of the importance of a good breakfast to start the day.”
