ONE OF the favourites to win this year’s Strictly Come Dancing series, Laura Whitmore, will be performing in Malvern next year it has been announced.

The TV presenter will star in a new play by best selling author Peter James next year called ‘Not Dead Enough’ – which will be shown at Malvern Theatres between February 20 and 25.

Not Dead Enough is a murder mystery about Brian Bishop, who claims he was sixty miles away in bed the night his wife was murdered, so Superintendent Roy Grace investigates.

Whitmore will take on the role of mortuary assistant Cleo Morely in the drama.

The show will get its world premiere at the Orchard Theatre in Dartford in January before embarking a UK tour including dates in Milton Keynes, Brighton, Malvern, Bristol, Southampton, Newcastle, Coventry, Glasgow, Dublin where she studied and many more.

Whitmore, best known for her work as a television presenter on MTV and I’m a Celeb…, began her career at the Leinster School of Music and Drama in Dublin.

The novel on which the play is based was published in 2007 and is part of James’ Roy Grace series. It follows productions of The Perfect Murder and Dead Simple from the same series.

Whitmore said: “I’m a huge fan of Peter James’ books and so honoured to be cast as his Cleo for her first theatrical outing.

“Peter has created a strong character in Cleo Morely and I can’t wait to sink my teeth into the role.

“I’m also unbelievably excited to work with Producer Joshua Andrews and Director Ian Talbot.

“Before I trained in Journalism, I studied Drama and played some great roles including Lady Macbeth and Annie in All My Sons!

“I have been waiting a long time to return to acting and for a great role like this to come along, so I can’t wait to get on stage around the UK and of course Dublin with Not Dead Enough.”

Tickets for the Malvern show are currently on sale costing from £23.52 and are available by visiting www.malvern-theatres.co.uk or calling 01684 892277.
