A TEENAGER was left shaken after a man held a knife to his throat in an attempted robbery outside a Malvern school.

The attack happened about 10.45pm yesterday (Tuesday) when a man approached the 19-year-old victim from behind whilst he was walking past The Chase on Geraldine Way.

The offender threatened him ordering the teen to hand over his belongings while holding a knife to his throat.

He had no property with him so the man, who was white, about 5 foot 11 and wearing a large black coat and blue jeans,  made off in the direction of the alleyway alongside QinetiQ empty-handed. He was said to have a local accent. The victim escaped uninjured from the incident.

Det Con Al Mulcaster said: “We are taking this offence very seriously and are eager to trace the man responsible.

“Thankfully, the victim wasn’t injured during the incident but he was left very shaken.”

Anyone with information should call police on 101 using the reference 616S of Tuesday, January 20 or pass details anonymously to Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.
