KEMPSEY will hope to secure their fourth promotion in five years this weekend when they take on Worcestershire County League Division Three leaders Harborne.
Following their abandoned match against Malvern on Saturday, it means Kempsey must win their final game of the season to stand a chance of gaining promotion to Division Two.
However it’s not in their own hands as second placed Old Vigornians entertain fifth placed Bartestree & Lugwardine knowing a win guarantees them a promotion spot alongside Harborne.
But Kempsey will be hopeful of getting the win they need after beating the league leaders earlier this season.
Zakary O’Neill’s side dropped to third in the table over the weekend following their third consecutive abandonment and sit seven points behind Vigornians who climbed up to second with a winning draw at Barnards Green Thirds.
The abandoned game also condemned Malvern to relegation to Division Four as they sit 25 points adrift of safety with just one game remaining.
And following West Malvern’s promotion from Division Five, it means an eye-catching local derby is on the cards for next season.
