MALVERN Town showed more encouraging signs they could have a successful season ahead after Les Jones’ side achieved an impressive fightback against a team two divisions above them.

Two second half goals from last season’s top scorer Dave Reynolds helped the Hillsiders to a 2-2 draw againstĀ Evo Stik Southern League Division One South and West outfit Bishops Cleeve last night (Tuesday).

The home side had the better of the first half taking a 2-0 lead with goals from Tom Hoskins and Mark Magee.

The draw continued Malvern’s unbeaten run in pre-season after securing previous wins against Highmoor Ibis, Littleton and Cadbury Athletic as they seek to clinch promotion from the West Midlands (Regional) Premier Division.

Malvern next entertain Westfields at the HDAnywhere Community Stadium tomorrow (Thursday) before facing Bradford Town on Saturday at the same venue.

The Hillsiders’ 2016/17 campaign begins with a home FA Cup tie against Rocester on Saturday, August 6.
