Malvern Town match abandoned after 60 minutes

Malvern Editorial 10th Jan, 2016 Updated: 20th Oct, 2016   0

MALVERN Town’s first match of 2016 away to Pegasus Juniors was abandoned after 60 minutes following heavy rain.

The visitors were leading 5-1 when the match referee Anthony Glazzard called the game to a halt.

Bosses at Malvern Town FC say they will have to play the waiting game to find out if they will be awarded the three points from the West Midlands Regional League fixture or if it will be replayed at a later date.

Goals from Ben Hayes, Lee Hooper, Dene Whittal-Williams had made it a rather one-sided affair but Malvern’s joy was short-lived when the match was declared over with half an hour remaining.
