AN award of £3.3million has been made to Worcestershire County Council to push the roll-out of 5G technology in the county.
The government cash will be used by the West Mercia Rural 5G project to test and trial the benefits of 5G, particularly in rural areas, when it launches on April 1.
Other partners in the project include local NHS organisations, alongside Airband and Three – who will plan, build and operate the 5G network.
Shropshire Council is also a partner in the project.
