New CAMHS website launched to help Worcestershire's children and young people with their mental health

A NEW mental health website has been launched for children in Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

The creation by child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) provides lots of services and information for children and young people is in response to feedback which suggests navigating support can be difficult sometimes.

The site has been designed to be a ‘one stop shop’ for children, young people, families and professionals across both counties who are seeking advice, support and links to appropriate services.

The site has been designed in collaboration with mental health professionals from CAMHS and young people.

Elaine Cook-Tippins, CAMHS service manager said: “Throughout the design and launch of our new CAMHS website, young people have been at the forefront of our minds.

“The insight and feedback received from young people and service users was invaluable, giving a fresh perspective to the website’s development.”

The new site provides helpful information such as practical tips to support children and young people’s mental health, self-help resources, and information on local CAMHS NHS services.

Natthew Lammas, Locality Services Manager for Wellbeing and Emotional Support Teams in Schools (in CAMHS), said: “We wanted to create a tool that was easy for everyone to use, and we truly hope that children, young people and families like the new website and provide feedback, ensuring that we continue to provide the best care to our local communities.”

CAMHS is delivered by Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust, which provides mental health and learning disability services across both counties.

It also runs community hospitals, nursing and therapy and other children’s services across Worcestershire.
