There's plenty to see and do at Worcestershire libraries this Christmas

THERE’S plenty to see and do at Worcestershire libraries this Christmas – including sending personalised poems to loved ones.

The poems, written by one of six local poets, are free to send.

Libraries in Redditch, Bromsgrove, Droitwich and Worcester are hoping visitors will use the service to reconnect with old friends or to simply let someone know they’re loved.

To request a poem, visit http://ww.worcestershire.gov.uk/Libraries.

County Libraries are also offering a host of online activities and events to keep people connected and entertained through the festive season.

A special Christmas bounce and rhyme session is available on the Worcestershire Libraries YouTube channel.

It will see parents and their children singing along to classic Christmas carols and traditional nursery rhymes with library staff.

County Councillor Lucy Hodgson, cabinet member with responsibility for communities said: “Our libraries play such an important role in keeping us connected.

“This is especially important at Christmas so to know our library services are offering activities in a Covid-safe way is fantastic news indeed.”

To help keep people connected, a number of ‘Library Connect Bubbles’ have been launched.

These include a ‘Save Your Waistline Over Christmas’ bubble which will provide attendees with practical advice on how to enjoy Christmas without over-indulging, and ‘Christmas Crime Book’ bubble where you can chat about upcoming and recently published crime titles.
