Worcestershire County Council's Halloween fun packs to help people 'stay in and party'

‘STAYING in and dressing up is the new going out this Halloween’ – that’s the message from Worcestershire County Council which is urging people to find frightful fun in their homes and gardens, writes Storm Cox.

With trick or treating not advisable because of the Coronavirus pandemic, the authority suggests holding parties within households or bubbles and has put together a ‘Worcestershire Spooks Safely’ pack which includes colouring in sheets and games.

Families could also watch a scary movie at home together, carve pumpkins or enjoy decorating their homes.

Another fun idea for children is to have a Halloween hunt in the garden.

People could also go out for a spooky Halloween walk in their bubble, dressed in costume whilst admiring the full blue hunters moon expected to make an appearance on October 31.

Worcestershire’s Director for Public Health Dr Kathryn Cobain, said: “2020 has been difficult for all of us and we need to have some fun to cheer ourselves up.”

She emphasised how important it was that families stayed at home in their bubble- unless going out for a walk.
