Police investigating reports of 'chainsaw' break-in at Belmont Road

POLICE are currently investigating an earlier incident at Belmont Road where it is alleged a group of people broke into a house using a chainsaw.

Reports of disturbance were reported to police just after 11am earlier today (Wednesday).

In a statement police have said three offenders left the scene in a silver Volvo Saloon.

It is not known if anybody was injured during the incident and investigations are ongoing.




However police have reassured residents there is no wider threat to the community.

Inspector Andy Smith said: “Officers are currently in attendance at a property on Belmont Road, Malvern. This follows reports of a disturbance at approximately 11.05am this morning.


“It is believed that the property was broken into using a chainsaw, and that three offenders left the scene in a silver Volvo saloon.

“Specially trained officers were also in attendance while the scene was assessed. It is not known at this time if there was anybody injured in the incident.

“Investigations are ongoing, but we would like to reassure the public that this is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no wider threat.

Anyone with information about the incident should call police on 101.
