Malvern hit four past sorry Tipton

MALVERN Town climbed to 9th place in the West Midlands Regional League Premier Division after thrashing bottom-of the-league Tipton Town 4-0.

The visitors were too good for Tipton who are still to register their league win of the season going into the Christmas period.

A 16th minute penalty from Lee Hooper opened the scoring for Malvern who were dominant throughout the 90 minutes.

Eight minutes later saw the visitors double their lead when Dave Reynolds met Ben Hayes’ perfectly made cross.

Malvern could have stretched their lead further as efforts from Hayes and Hooper failed to find the target.

But Malvern did make it 3-0 in the 70th minute when a good move and pass by Hayes led to Reynolds netting his second from close range.

And Malvern made it 4-0 just before the full-time whistle with a goal from Chris Parker.

Malvern return to action on Monday, December 28 when they face Stone Old Alleynians who currently are placed 14th in the league.
