Headshave raises thousands for charities

A MALVERN Link man and his colleagues raised more than £4,000 for four charities by having their heads shaved.

Ian Londesbrough of Crispin Drive joined forces with David Knapp and Don Kendall from software company Iress to fund-raise for St Richard’s Hospice, the James Hopkins Trust, Myton Hospice and the Anthony Nolan Trust in support of his father-in-law Clive Cam, former headteacher of Great Malvern Primary school, who has been having chemotherapy.

Mr Londesbrough said: “Clive, who I live next door to and am very close to, is undergoing chemo for cancer and has lost his hair. This was my way of getting something positive out of a challenging situation for the family and showing solidarity. It was a bit chilly at first, but my hair grows back fast and I also have a good selection of hats at my disposal.

“Clive asked us to fund-raise for St Richard’s as they are supporting him and the family. I’m absolutely knocked out by the support we’ve received.”
