An early present

A MALVERN charity raised hundreds of pounds when it hosted its annual Christmas fair.

Mayor of Malvern Julian Roskams and MP Harriett Baldwin were in attendance at the annual event organised by Community Action.

Taking place at St James School, the event allows other charities in the area to raise awareness and funds in an open and comfortable setting.

More than 20 charities took part as Father Christmas and even Iron Man rolled into town. Organisers Community Action raised more than £700 on the day.

Music was provided by Upton Youth Band and Girlguiding UK which added a festive feel.

Corrine Phillips from Community Action said: “It was a brilliant and fun event with lots of children having faces painted, or making jewellery or other craft events put on by some of the stall holders.

“Early feedback is extremely positive with stall holders raising lots of money and, more importantly, bringing much needed publicity to their worthwhile causes.”
