A MAN who is registered blind fought off robbers after being threatened with a knife.

Andy Muxlow has no sight in one eye and only minimal sight in the other. It is believed offenders may have been watching as the 44-year-old withdrew some money from a cash machine opposite the Barnards Green Loco shop on Geraldine Road at 7.40pm on Friday, March 28.

As he walked towards The Chase he was approached by at least two men, one of whom held a knife to his throat and chest and demanded money. He managed to get away after kicking him on the leg and punching him in the face.

PC Katie Doidge said: “Mr Muxlow was left shaken and upset and will no longer go out on his own in the dark.”
