Malvern teen who defecated in public handed CRASBO

A TEENAGER has been punished for several offences including defecating in public and criminal damage.

Lewis Jones was handed a Criminal Anti Social Behaviour Order (CRASBO) at Worcester Youth Court last Tuesday (September 30).

The sanction bans the 18-year-old Cotswold Road resident from using foul, abusive or threatening language, appearing in a public place with three specific individuals and making contact with another separate person.

Under the order Jones cannot enter Elgar Avenue, an area outside of Moat Way shops and part of Pound Bank Road in Malvern. The teen has also been warned not to defecate in public apart from in an appropriate toilet.

The CRASBO will last for two years and Jones could face up to five years in prison if he breaches any of the conditions.

He has been notorious with police for more than a year and officers have been able to act thanks to numerous reports of anti-social behaviour including assault, incidents of drinking in a designated alcohol free area and disturbing residents at unsociable hours.

PC Dave Wise, of Pickersleigh Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “It is a great result for police to issue this CRASBO as it will empower us to prevent such behaviour. Jones has caused significant disturbance and distress to the local community. We are not prepared to tolerate that.

“I would urge anyone who witnesses Jones breaching the terms of the CRASBO to report it to police on 101. I hope this case shows our determination to tackle offending of this nature.”
