MALVERN motorbike racer Andy Wintle has set his sights on winning silverware next year after a strong showing in this season’s Thundersport GB Championship.
Wintle said he was delighted with his first appearance in the nine-round competition as he finished eighth out of 34 competitors.
The championship saw him race at Brands Hatch, Donnington GP, Snetterton, Cadwell Park, Oulton Park, Rockingham, Anglesey, Donnington (National) and Mallory Park.
But Wintle, who finished third in the EMRA Pre-Injection Championship in 2013, said he was now determined to push himself on to greater heights next year.
“I had only visited one of the tracks before, but my goal was to finish the season inside the top ten come the end of the season,” he said.
“With an engine failure at Oulton Park and not having enough funds to enter the Anglesey round, I was very happy to finally finish eighth in the championship.
“Now I’ve seen the circuits and gained significantly more experience than in my first season, I’m hoping to again compete in the Thundersport series.
“I want to achieve a top five finish in the championship and bring some silverware home throughout the 2015 season.
“I would like to thank Cherry Hall and Hallmark Electra for their support over the past year, along with the No Guts No Glory race team for their track-side help.”
