Cyclist dies after collision with car

AN ELDERLY man who was involved in a collision with a car while riding his bicycle has died.

The incident happened about 10.40am on Saturday, January 3, on Walwyn Road, Colwall, when the 72-year-old cyclist became involved in a collision with a silver Ford Ranger.

An ambulance, paramedic officer, a paramedic in a rapid response vehicle and a Midlands Air Ambulance team travelling in a car from Cosford attended the scene.

The man was immobilised using a neck collar and spinal board before been taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further assessment and treatment, but he passed away on Monday (January 5).




PC Mark Roberts, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends at this very difficult time.

“We are eager to establish the circumstances leading up to collision and ask for anyone with information to make contact.”


Anyone with information should call police on 101 using the incident reference 141 S of Saturday, January 3.
