YOUNGSTERS throughout Malvern had the opportunity to discover the sporting opportunities further afield as a Premier League football foundation came to town.
West Bromwich Albion’s foundation paraded the streets and schools of Malvern last Wednesday (February 4) in a bid to raise awareness of their Worcestershire presence.
Mascots Baggie Bird and Albi were also in attendance as they visited the town centre, the retail park and Northleigh Primary School to promote the club.
Richard Holmes, Worcestershire development officer for the Albion Foundation, said: “We had a very warm welcome from everyone in Malvern and people were keen to find out what we were doing.
“Lots of people were stopping to take pictures which is great and spreads the word all round which can only be a positive thing throughout the community.”
A signed West Brom shirt was also won by Tom Blundell who posted the best selfie with the mascots and put it on Twitter.
