A MALVERN business which produces worldwide metal-detection technology has been hailed as a success story by the town’s MP.
Harriett Baldwin, representing West Worcestershire, attended Metrasens to talk about the firm’s growth and its long term plans, while being shown the scanner which is being used to detect metal objects and prevent them being used illegally in prisons and custody suites.
The product has just been approved by the Home Office for use in the UK, but it is already in use in prisons across America and other countries.
The company, based on Sparrowhawk Close, currently employs 44 people in its Malvern HQ and offices in the US.
Mrs Baldwin said: “The brilliant brains of Malvern are turning their inventions into world-class products with high-end manufacturing jobs here in Malvern.
“I am really pleased they continue to recruit locally and they believe they get the best quality staff by basing themselves in the town.
“They are an exporting success story, with ambitious long term economic plans for sales around the world and I am keen to help them grow in any way I can.”
