NEW HOMES which will provide a ‘great improvement’ to Lower Broadheath have been given the green light.
A total of six properties will be built on Peachley Court Farm in the village after councillors unanimously approved the development.
Agricultural buildings currently on the former farm site on Peachley Lane, which is allocated in the South Worcestershire Development Plan (SWDP), will also be demolished as part of proposals.
Malvern Hills District Council’s Northern Area Development Management Committee sent through the application on the brownfield land at a meeting last Wednesday (March 11).
Coun Roger Bass, councillor for the area, said: “I am very happy to propose this – it has already been recommended in the SWDP and forms part of the housing allocation.
“I have used the phrase tidying up of the redundant farm area, it will be a great improvement to have something nice down that end of this particular lane.
“The parish council is in favour and we are happy for this to go ahead.”
Coun Paul Swinburn and Coun David Harrison also both said they had no problems with the two-storey houses being developed and were pleased to see it go through.
