PUPILS and their parents, grandparents and carers joined forces and raised more than £300 for much needed extra school funds.

The Friends of St Matthias School hosted the fund-raising day with the help of the Malvern Link Cooperative Supermarket.

The group took over the foyer of the store and had tea, coffee and cakes, a toy tombola, face painting, balloon animals and a raffle with some fantastic prizes donated by the shop.

As well as this there was also Vasai Indian and Andrew Slater Hairdressing and pupils were also on hand helping people with their shopping.

Sally Dixon, one of the group’s joint chairs, said: “I think its wonderful that lots of the local community came together for this good cause and we managed to raise over £300.”
