AN ELDERLY woman fractured her wrist and ankle after a car crashed into two buildings in Severn Stoke.

The incident happened about 3.45pm yesterday (Wednesday) on the A38 when the vehicle, which contained three people, collided with the buildings.

A woman, in her 80s, was a front-seat passenger and suffered a fractured ankle and a fractured wrist before she was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

The driver, a man in his 80s, had tenderness in his back and had to be cut from the car. He was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

Another passenger in the vehicle, a man in his 50s, suffered chest injuries and was also taken to Worcestershire Royal.

A West Midlands Ambulance spokesman said three ambulances attended the incident and added that a witness praised the service for its handling of the situation.

No one in either building was injured.
