VISITORS are being urged to attend Malvern Cube and its gardens as it supports National Vegetarian Week.

The centre, on Albert Road North, will offer ideas for healthy vegetarian living as part of the week, which runs from Monday (May 18) to Sunday (May 24).

Herbs, root vegetables, brassica, beans and peas, salad crops and edible flowers are all available from the centre’s raised beds.

The Cube Café, The Cake Tin, will be using some of the produce grown at the site to promote the versatility of vegetarian food and the health benefits that come with.

Green coconut smoothies, homemade coleslaw, Victoria Sponge with homemade rhubarb jam, and fresh mint tea will be a selection of the treats on offer.

Ruth Hallam, of The Cake Tin, said: “Being vegetarian is not about eating lentils and tofu as there are so many amazing flavours and combinations to enjoy.

“Think sun-dried tomato, mozzarella and basil, leek and potato, and broccoli and Stilton.

“Our menu always features locally-grown seasonal produce and during National Vegetarian Week you can enjoy dishes showcasing broccoli, chard, mint, spinach and salad all fresh from the Malvern Cube garden and local grower, Warren Farm Veg.”
