A MOTORBIKE rider was taken to hospital after a collision with a car near Malvern.

The incident happened about 2.45pm on Sunday (June 21) when a purple Suzuki Estate Wagon and a Black Yamaha Motorcycle collided at the A449 Powick and Callow End roundabout.

Eye-witnesses at the scene told police there had been an altercation between a group of motorcyclists and the driver of the Suzuki before the crash.

The driver of the Suzuki then failed to stop at the scene.

A 76-year-old man, believed to be the driver, was found by police following the incident and the rider of the bike was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital with minor injuries.

PC Danian Lowe said: “Early indications point to this having been a deliberate act on the part of the driver but enquiries are ongoing.”

Anyone with further information can contact police on the non-emergency number 101.
