MORE than 40 homes are set to be built in a Malvern Hills village after councillors gave the development the go-ahead.
Members of the district council’s Northern Area Development Management Committee approved plans to create 41 properties off Bransford Road in Rushwick at a meeting on Wednesday (July 1).
Proposals, which include 40 per cent affordable homes, will be on land in between Broadmoor Green and Rushwick.
Coun David Chambers, councillor for the area, said: “There are many concerns about this application which local residents have expressed.
“It is fair to say some have been alleviated but for myself there is one overriding concern. The drainage and flooding issues are of paramount importance.”
A total of six councillors voted in favour, three against and two abstained.
