A MALVERN food store has re-opened following a £375,000 investment aimed at improving customers’ shopping experience.
The Co-operative shop in Barnard’s Green had the red ribbon cut by representatives of The Octagon Community Centre on Thursday (July 2), where the food outlet donates groceries and staff volunteer their time.
An improved in-store bakery range, a new layout to enhance dairy, meat and chilled produce and a Costa Express coffee dispenser have all be included in the revamp.
The Barnards Green Road store also includes a Community Pioneer, where members of the site will take part in fund-raising activities to help understand and meet community needs.
Sheila Preece, manager of the Barnards Green store, said: “We are delighted to have made such a significant investment in our store.
“The new format looks fantastic and it is an exciting time for the whole team.
“The Co-operative is a community retailer and is committed to transforming and growing its convenience businesses, investing to enhance the in-store experience for our customers while lowering the price of every day essentials.
“I am confident the new-look store will be an asset to the community, playing a real part in local life while enabling shoppers to pick up delicious food conveniently.”
There are offers and promotions in the shop to mark its re-opening.
