MALVERN youngsters looking for a challenge over the summer holidays can now sign up for the Junior Summer Fitness Challenge.

Children, between four and 14, have been given the task of completing 30 physical activities between now and September 5.

The challenge is being run by Freedom Leisure which operates Malvern Splash, Sport Dyson Perrins and Sport Martley Leisure Centre on behalf of Malvern Hills District Council.

After completing their first ten activities children will receive a free voucher for activities like badminton or swimming. When they reach 20 they will be given another activity voucher and a small prize and if they complete the whole lot will be awarded with an exclusive Junior Summer Fitness Challenge medal and certificate.

David Pugh, Freedom Leisure’s area manager, said: “We want to encourage children to have fun whilst getting active, so any activity that gets children up out of their seat and making a physical effort will count as a legitimate activity.”

Freedom Leisure is also looking for the ‘Most Active School’. The school with the highest percentage of pupils completing the challenge will win a pool party for the children.
