ORGANISERS of the Livestock Festival have hailed an ‘epic’ weekend after more than 3,000 music lovers flocked to the three-day event in Longdon.
Scouting for Girls, The Feeling, Toploader and The Hoosiers headlined the festival which took place between Friday (July 31) and Sunday (August 2).
Band Fallen Branches opened the show before The Feeling took to the stage where they sang Love It When You Call and Never Be Lonely.
BBC’s The Voice winner Jermain Jackman performed on The Woodland Stage on Saturday before Toploader and Scouting for Girls got audiences dancing in the evening.
The latter performed a string of their hits including She’s So Lovely, Heartbeat, Elvis Ain’t Dead as well as their new single – Lifes Too Short which was released the day before Livestock.
Monty Python’s Life of Brain was also screened on Saturday night followed by a silent disco until the early hours on the morning.
The Hoosiers then took to the stage on Sunday evening where they performed Goodbye Mr A and Worried About Ray, while the film, the Goonies, was screened.
Bob Slayer’s BlundaBus performed throughout the entire weekend with Bobby Mair, Phil Kay and Patrick Monahan with comedy for both children and adults after 9pm.
There was also a host of activities to keep families entertained including circus skills, Punch & Judy shows, rugby sessions, face painting, climbing wall, tractor and trailer rides, pottery painting and bouncy castles.
Scouting for Girls front man, Roy Stride, labelled it as ‘the best farm festival they have ever been to’, while Ben Leeke, founder of Livestock Festival, added: “It’s been an epic weekend.
“We have been overwhelmed by the turn out we received, which stormed our original estimates by a long way.
“It’s no mean feat getting an event like this off the ground and the support we have received in our first year has been unbelievable – I had more well wishes for Livestock than I did for my wedding.
“The bands absolutely smashed it each night, the sun shone throughout the weekend and the atmosphere was electric.
“Thank you to everyone who supported us for year one and as they say, watch this space for Livestock 2016.”
