THE WINNERS of this year’s Residents In Bloom competition have been announced.

The annual event, decided by RHS judge Bill Simpson and the Mayor, Coun Julian I’Anson, took place throughout the town with the prize giving being performed at Priory Park on Sunday, August 30.

Brian Strain won the best front garden, Mr and Mrs Bough claimed the best rear garden, Celia Goldswain scooped the best courtyard garden and the best hanging baskets and containers was won by Mr and Mrs Eaton.

Clarence Park Residents’ Association came top in the best communal garden and Betty Mills also claimed the prize for most innovative garden.

Coun I’Anson said: “I was impressed by the gardens that lay hidden behind their owners’ houses. Creativity and hard work was very much in evidence.”

Meanwhile, the popular Traders’ Window Malvern in Bloom competition will return this year.
