FRIENDLY and experienced staff at a Malvern market are inviting residents to celebrate its Diamond Jubilee.
First set up in 1955 as the WI Market, the Malvern Country Market – at the Lyttelton Rooms on Church Street – has reached its 60th anniversary and is celebrating the milestone by running a prize draw open to all its customers throughout October to win a hamper of local goodies.
Every Friday morning from 9am to 12.15pm at the popular market, shoppers can buy homemade, homegrown and handcrafted food.
The market is famous for its cakes, cookies, pies, jams and freshly harvested produce including potatoes, cherry tomatoes, mulberries and bouquets of seasonal flowers.
Anyone visiting the market on the next four Fridays will be given a ticket for entry into the draw, which will be made on Friday October, 30 by the town’s mayor, Coun Julian l’Anson, at 11.30am.
