New café and reception for Malvern Splash

Malvern Editorial 5th Nov, 2015 Updated: 20th Oct, 2016   0

A NEW café and reception room will be built at Malvern Splash as part of a huge £100,000 investment to improve the facility.

Freedom Leisure, which operates the lesiure centre on behalf of Malvern Hills District Council, is investing the six-figure sum into the Priory Road building.

The newly-designed reception will offer a fresh look and a more accessible, open and customer friendly area and as well as have a new look, the café will sell a selection of Costa Coffee drinks.

Work will start on Sunday, November 22 and is due for completion by mid-December.

The existing café will be shut while works take place to make way for the new improvements but the remainder of the centre will open as normal.

It follows a major £300,000 refurbishment earlier this year which saw improvements made to its gym and cycle studio.

Building work will be completed outside the centre’s opening hours, where possible, to ensure minimal disruption to customers.

Freedom Leisure Centre manager Ian Bonsall said: “We are looking forward to these refurbishment works at Malvern Splash.

“The centre has already received a £300K investment from Freedom Leisure to create a brand new gym and spinning studio and the new café and reception area will make further improvements to the services we offer here.”

Mark Hammond, Malvern Hills District Council’s contracts and performance manager, added: “I am looking forward to seeing these latest improvements at Malvern Splash which will deliver a vastly improved customer experience, right from their first step into the facility and the new café should make their stay a little more comfortable.”
