MORE than 100 people marked Armistice Day in Malvern earlier today (Wednesday).
Great Malvern Priory hosted a congregation of residents and dignataries for a service of remembrance.
Rev’d Canon John Barr and Anthony Hartley-Wooley led the short service, and a two minutes’ silence was held in memory of all those who have fallen in conflict.
Crosses were laid by Deputy Lieutenant Andrew Grant, Malvern Mayor Coun Julian I’Anson, town councillors, and representatives of Malvern Hills District Council, West Mercia Constabulary, the HMS Lancastria Survivors Association, as well as many of Malvern’s schools and community and youth groups.
Town clerk Linda Blake said: “It was a very poignant service, and I was very pleased to see such a large congregation.”
