MALVERN’s new Poundland store is to open this weekend, the retail giant has announced.
The discount shop, which will be based at Malvern Shopping Park, will have its doors opened for the first time on Saturday (November 28) at 9am.
News of the opening comes a fortnight after The Observer exclusively revealed Poundland were opening a new store in the town.
The Malvern store is to provide more than 3,500 products and ‘numerous’ job opportunities.
Poundland will join other huge retailers on the retail park including Marks and Spencer, Matalan, Halfords, Boots and Next.
The chain’s retail director, Martin Dawson said: “Poundland has grown significantly over the past 12 months and it’s fantastic to see this expansion continuing with a new store in Malvern.
“We’re looking forward to opening our doors.”
More than 600 stores Poundland have opened in the UK and the Republic of Ireland since 1990.
