VOLUNTEERS are urgently needed to run Upton Tourist Information and Heritage Centre’s longer opening hours.
The Church Street centre based in the iconic Pepperpot building provides an important service to visitors to the town and despite having full time staff, volunteers are needed to support the longer working hours each week.
Malvern Hills District Council, who run the service, are seeking people with a few hours to spare each week.
Volunteers would provide a warm welcome to visitors, offer information and advice on the area as well as selling gifts.
Knowledge of the Upton area and its history is not essential as full training will be provided.
Simon Smith, economic development manager at Malvern Hills District Council, said: “The Upton Tourist Information and Heritage Centre is open throughout the year to welcome visitors to the town and provides a wealth of information on the areas attractions, events, accommodation and its fascinating history.
“We are keen to find volunteers who would be available to support opening on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.”
Anyone interested in volunteering at the centre should call 01684 594200 or email [email protected].
