A RECORD number of more than 100,000 people flocked to this year’s RHS Malvern Spring Festival on the hottest weekend of the year so far.
This year’s festival, which took place between Thursday to Sunday, was a groundbreaking year for the landmark gardening and food event which smashed the previous record of more than 90,000 visitors.
Kicking off the Royal Horticultural Society’s summer season, the Spring Festival welcomed the green-fingered Alan Titchmarsh and national treasure Mary Berry to headline along with a plethora of top names and industry experts from the world of gardening and food.
Visitors immersed themselves in stunning show gardens, a floral marquee which was in full bloom and a vibrant food and drink pavilion overflowing with the finest produce the UK has to offer.
CBeebies favourites Ben Faulks as Mr Bloom together with BBC Blue Peter gardener Chris Collins welcomed budding gardeners to a dedicated family fun day on the Sunday of the festival.
Ken Nottage, CEO of Three Counties, said: “What a phenomenal year for RHS Malvern Spring Festival. It’s been sensational – the sun has shone throughout the weekend as visitors have got stuck into the array of glorious gardening and fine food that we had on offer.
“We’re thrilled to have welcomed a record-breaking number of visitors to the show. It’s been a pleasure to see so many people of all ages enjoying a great day out.
“I’d like to thank everyone for joining us and bringing another fantastic show to the Three Counties Showground.
“We are now full steam ahead with plans for the Royal Three Counties Show in June.”
The Royal Three Counties Show takes place between June 17 and 19.
