WORLD renowned celebrity Jason Donovan will be returning to Malvern later this year, it has been announced.
The Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat and Neighbours star will perform at Malvern Theatres playing the role of record producer Sam Phillips in ‘Million Dollar Quartet’.
The show takes place at the Grange Road venue between Monday, October 17 and Saturday, October 22.
This will be Donovan’s third visit to Malvern following his previous performances in Annie Get Your Gun (2014) and last year’s production of The King’s Speech.
Following its success in the West End, Las Vegas and on Broadway, Million Dollar Quartet is coming to Malvern.
The worldwide smash-hit musical is inspired by the famous recording session that brought together rock ‘n’ roll icons Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins for the first and only time.
A household name, Donovan launched to stardom appearing as Scott in Neighbours before a successful pop career saw him sell millions of albums and top the charts worldwide.
He is currently visiting venues around the UK with his Ten Good Reasons and Greatest Hits tour and presents a show every Sunday on Heart FM.
Also in the cast list are Martin Kaye who plays Jerry Lee Lewis.
Martin played the role on the first North American tour of Million Dollar Quartet, which, after a year and a half, led him to open the Las Vegas Production at Harrah’s.
Robbie Durham performs as Johnny Cash with stage credits including 1st cover Tony in Billy Elliot (Victoria Palace), Hoods (Arts Theatre), Sunny Afternoon (Harold Pinter Theatre), Dreamboats and Petticoats (West End & UK tour) and Kiss Me, Kate (Upstairs at the Gatehouse).
And Ross William Wild joins the cast as Elvis Presley after having recent roles as Norman in Dreamboats and Miniskirts (UK Tour), Michael in The Witches of Eastwick (The Watermill Theatre) and Jason in the European Premiere of BARE.
