A MOTHER and child have been rescued by a specialist rope fire crew team from a cliff face on the Malvern Hills today (Thursday).
A nine-year-old boy had tried to scale the Ivyscar Rock on the northside of the hills, but came under difficulty.
His mum then ascended the rock face to try and help her son, but soon became stuck also.
Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service were notified at 12.31pm and a fire engine and rope rescue team from Malvern soon attended the scene to save them.
A spokesperson for the West Midlands Ambulance Service said the fire service alerted them and an ambulance was also sent to the scene but was not needed.
Malvern Fire Station tweeted it was a ‘happy ending’ and neither the mother or son were injured.
