MALVERN based charity Worcestershire Animal Rescue Shelter has received a huge £7,500 donation from Support Adoption For Pets to assist with its vet bills.
The charity work daily to re-home cats and dogs across the area. The rescue also provides sanctuary for ex-battery hens.
Worcestershire Animal Rescue Shelter’s vet bills from last year totalled nearly £23,000.
Amy Wilson, Charity Manager at Support Adoption For Pets, said: “Vet bills are often the biggest expense for an animal charity so we’re happy we can support Worcestershire Animal Rescue Shelter with its fees so it can continue to focus on the animals.”
Support Adoption For Pets is an independent charity established by Pets at Home in 2006, since then it has helped more than 1,000 re-homing centres and animal welfare organisations across the UK.
In addition to its fundraising work it also runs dedicated adoption centres in nearly 400 Pets at Home stores.
