AROUND 1,400 homes in Malvern have been without power this morning (Friday).
Western Power Distribution has confirmed this morning that engineers were working to reinstall power supply in the area.
The power firm have told the Observer all homes have now had power restored with 1,200 homes affected having power supply back within an hour of the fault.
The power cut appears to have been caused by an electric fault at a substation on Reed Close.
A tweet from Hereford and Worcester Fire Rescue Service said: “@HWFireMalvern respond to smoke issuing from electrical substation, Reed Close. Incident caused by cable failure @wpduk investigating.”
